Seb Dovey

Sebastian Dovey is a successful entrepreneur, board member, thought leader, and angel investor in the fields of global wealth management, consumer insight, scale-up companies and business management.

Seb was the co-founder in 1998 of Scorpio Partnership, an award-winning global management consultancy, strategic research and insight data business. This was acquired by Aon PLC in 2014 and Seb exited in October 2017.

 

Seb joined FiComm's Advisory Board in 2018. In his role as Non-Executive Director he provides the leadership team with guidance on the future strategy and oversight on the business performance of FiComm.

 

Seb is also a Non-Executive Director at four regulated financial institutions in high growth wealth and investment management in Europe and the United Kingdom. He was also formerly Chairman of F2 Strategy from 2019-2024 through to the firm's acquisition by private equity.

 

Seb’s expertise as a self-described as the anthropologist of wealth spans 30 years of developing high impact commercial strategies for wealth managers, private banks, financial planners, , asset managers, investment banks, family offices, technology firms, service providers, private equity, aggregators and start-up initiatives. During his industry career Seb's contribution has been recognized with various awards at a corporate and individual level. Mr. Dovey is also a founding judge of the Financial Times awards (for Private Banking and also Wealth Technology) and also the WealthBriefing awards where has also served on the editorial board since 2005.

 

Seb Dovey is a regular commentator on the wealth management industry in the press and at conferences and academies and has chaired and presented keynotes at leading industry events in Asia, Europe and the United States over 30 years. He has been widely published on topics related to wealth management, client behavior and financial services. He has been a lecturer at The Swiss Finance Institute (formerly the Swiss Banking School) for its executive MBA program.

 

Seb holds a first-class BA (Hons.) degree in Modern History from University College London and was awarded an MSc (Econ.) with distinction from the LSE. When not doing any of the above – or sometimes simultaneously – he lives with his family in Devon and Is In constant pursuit of sunshine, goodwill and happiness.
