Marisha Chinsky is a Communications Manager at FiComm Partners, based in New York City. She has more than 15 years of award-winning public relations experience in strategic media relations and corporate communications for some of the world’s leading financial and professional services organizations, including J.P. Morgan Private Wealth Management, New York Life, Chubb, NASDAQ OMX Group, and PwC. Her range of skills encompasses campaign planning, thought leadership, writing, social media, account management, and producing events for clients in retail and institutional investing, insurance, accounting, global cash management, mutual funds, and wealth management.
Prior to joining FiComm in January 2016 as a Communications Manager, Marisha served as an Account Supervisor in Makovsky’s Financial & Professional Services Practice for three years, where she worked with Western Union Business Solutions, Federated Investors, Horizons ETFs, and other clients. Before Makovsky, Marisha was a Senior Account Executive with MSLGROUP’s Corporate Practice, developing and executing public relations campaigns for Chubb Commercial and Personal Insurance, J.P. Morgan Private Bank/Private Wealth Management, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and World Gold Council.
Previous to her work on the agency side, Marisha served 10-years in corporate communications roles in-house at major firms getting to know the ins-and-outs of global business and client service. She was a Public Relations Consultant at NASDAQ OMX Group promoting the firm’s cutting-edge electronic trading technology, Corporate Solutions for listed companies, and events in NASDAQ’s landmark MarketSite in Times Square. From 2006 to 2009, she developed communications plans and positioned executives with the press at Willis Group Holdings, the world’s third largest global insurance broker. At the Risk & Insurance Management Society (RIMS) from 2004-2006, she oversaw public relations for the association, including press coverage of the RIMS Annual Conference.
She began her career in 2000, a month after college graduation, at New York Life Insurance Company as a Media Relations Associate. In 1999, she studied European advertising and marketing for a semester in London while interning in Battersea at Claydon Heeley International (Omnicom Group/Targetbase), a direct marketing agency serving British Airways, Pepsi, Marks & Spencer, and the famed Millennium Dome.
She directed an award-winning public relations campaign for Crystal & Company, a national insurance broker, which earned the PRSA-NY 2014 Big Apple Award for Marketing Business-to-Business: Professional & Financial Services; placed Silver at the 2014 Financial Communications Society (FCS) Portfolio Awards; and won a Silver Stevie Award from the American Business Awards for B2B PR Campaign of the Year. While working with Chubb Insurance, she generated numerous top-tier business articles, which led to the media relations campaign's nomination for Holmes Report SABRE Award in 2012.
Marisha graduated with a Master’s degree in Media Studies from The New School, and holds a BA with honors in Communications from the University of Connecticut, Storrs. She is a past Member of the Financial Communications Society, American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), National Association for Female Executives (NAFE), New York Press Club, and Advisory Board of the Insurance Media Association.
